When Randy/Big Klein first started the English Department blog, I posted a piece on creative projects for our students and for ourselves. I call for Quick Fiction to engage our students, ourselves, and each other one by one. Please see the posting in "Thoughts on Teaching."
Wouldn't it be fun to see Quick Fiction (100-150 words each) from fellow members of the Department?
Happy end of the semester . . . and so why not write a quick bit of fiction this winter break? Let's welcome Spring 2008 with some artistic endeavors, however modest in nature.

P.S. If anyone wants to start a novel-writing group on the blog, power to you. I'm not quite that ambitious, though I'll enjoy watching, like so many of us. Frankly, once the semester kicks in, that mere 150 words in harness feels pretty good to me.
