Thank you for posting this video. I am impressed with Nancy Sommers thoughtful approach. More teachers at all levels (from elementary on up) should reflect on what it means to meaningfully respond to writers themselves rathar than the writing. Our response is critical and should be centered around motivating students to continue their writing journeys.
